Accessibility at Children’s Resources on Wheels (CROW)

Overview

Children’s Resources on Wheels (CROW) is committed to creating a barrier free environment for people of all abilities who may be visiting, working, or volunteering with CROW. CROW strives to uphold the dignity and independence of everyone to ensure an equitable and inclusive experience for all. To uphold our commitments, we have made accessibility a regular part of our Health and Safety committee to promote, maintain, and create an accessible organization for all. If you wish to learn more about CROW and accessibility, please explore this page and feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns or if you require any information in another format.

Statement of Commitment

CROW is committed to providing programs, services, and employment opportunities that are accessible to all, regardless of ability. We strive to ensure that CROW community members are respected and treated equitably in all aspects of their time with CROW.  CROW believes that everyone is a valuable community member and thus, everyone deserves to feel that they belong as well as have the opportunities and tools to succeed.

Accessible Parking

At CROW, visitors and employees are provided with accessible parking spaces. These spaces are located at the front of the building near the entrance with easy access to the office. These spaces are reserved solely for those who are new or expectant mothers, or for those who have a valid accessible parking permit. These parking spaces are easily identified with the international symbol of access. For more information on obtaining an accessible parking permit, please visit: https://www.ontario.ca/page/get-accessible-parking-permit

Floor Plan

CROW is an accessible environment for everyone regardless of their abilities. Our office space is equipped with features such as: wide hallways and large washrooms for mobility devices, handrails installed in washrooms, and having all services provided on one floor. If you wish to review our floor plan, including marked accessible exits, please contact us by phone or by email. Copies of our floor plan will also be available for pickup at our office.

Service Animals

Service animals, required by anyone who visits a CROW location, are always welcome. These animals are welcome to stay with their owners on site and in any area of CROW. The owner must ensure that the service animal is identified with a vest, tag, harness, or any other method of identification. They are also responsible for all supervision and care of their animal.

Employment

Here at CROW, equal opportunity and fair hiring processes are practiced when filling positions. We hire only the most qualified individuals to ensure the success of our organization. This policy was adopted to ensure that all employees and potential candidates are considered for employment opportunities in a fair and consistent manner. If you would like more information on our hiring and accessible hiring processes please feel free to contact us to be sent a copy of our policy and procedures.
